Educator.
Born at Flin Flon, one of four children of Gerald McNabb Proudfoot (c1909-1972) and Helen Anne Owen (?-?), he came to Winnipeg in 1958 to attend United College (BA 1961). He taught at John Taylor Collegiate (1964-1965) and served as the Vice-Principal of Sansome School (1967-1969) and Westwood Collegiate (1969-1973), and Principal of Bruce Junior High School (1975-1979), Alexander Ross School (1979-1981), St. James Collegiate (1981-1985), and Sturgeon Creek Regional Secondary School (1985-1994). He retired from teaching in 1994. He was President of the Manitoba Association of Principals. On 18 August 1962, he married Sandra Margaret Dick (1940-2024) at Elim Chapel and they had a daughter and two sons, including Michael John Proudfoot (1967-2006). He died at Winnipeg on 15 January 2013.
