Memorable Manitobans: John “Jack” Carnegie (c1935-2023)Educator. Born at Winnipeg around 1935, his childhood was spent in St. James. While attending the University of Manitoba, he played with the Bisons hockey team. He spent over 30 years as an educator in the St. James-Assiniboia School Division, teaching at Silver Heights Collegiate (1965-1966) and including Vice-Principalships at John Taylor Collegiate (1970-1972) and Sturgeon Creek Regional Secondary School (1972-1975), and Principalships at Brooklands Collegiate (1975-1979), Brooklands School (1979-1985), and Sansome School (1985-1989).
