Memorable Manitobans: Douglas Ernest Bridge (1921-2015)

Educator.

Born at Carman on 3 May 1921, he was raised and educated at Winnipeg. After graduating from the University of Manitoba, he began teaching and coaching at Gordon Bell High School, Linwood School, and St. James Collegiate. He then served as Vice-Principal of Westwood Collegiate (?-1964) and Principal of John Taylor Collegiate (1964-1981) and Silver Heights Collegiate (1981-1983). He died at Winnipeg on 20 May 2015.
