Memorable Manitobans: William Oliver Hamilton (1876-?)Educator, lawyer. Born at Scarborough, Ontario in 1876, son of James Hamilton and Isabella Glendinning, he moved with his family to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1883. At the age of 15, he came to Winnipeg where he attended the Winnipeg Collegiate Institute, the Normal School, and the University of Manitoba, graduating from the latter with an Arts degree in 1902. He then taught school for five years, including at Beausejour School (1904), before articling in law with the firm of Daly and Company for four and a half years.
