He lives in Morden where he has taught Social Studies for the past 16 years at the Morden Collegiate Institute. He is the Executive Director of Manitobans Against Indiscriminate Weapons (MBAIW) and has served on the Board of Directors for Mines Action Canada (MAC). In recognition of his community service, he received the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal (2002).
He is the Lead Researcher on the MHS War Memorial Project.
