Educator.
Born at Winnipeg on 28 May 1938, one of ten children of Milton Camille Moore (1904-1980) and Jeannette Anne “Jean” Carmichael (1902-1991), he attended St. Paul's College then began a teaching career in the Catholic school system at St. John Brebeuf, later joining the St. James School Division.
He taught at Golden Gate School (1964-1965); was Vice-Principal at Crestview School (1970-1975), Alexander Ross School (1975-1978), John Taylor Collegiate (1978-1983), and Silver Heights Collegiate (1983-1988); and Principal at Phoenix School (1989-1990). He brought the International Baccalaureate program to Silver Heights Collegiate, the first of its kind in Winnipeg. After retirement, he helped with student evaluation in the Faculty of Education at the University of Manitoba.
On 7 August 1965, he married Mary Ann Mestery at St. Gerard's Church in Elmwood and they subsequently had three sons. He was active as a basketball referee, participating in the 1982 Federation Cup hosted in Bulgaria. He held position with the Manitoba and national refereeing bodies, serving as President of the Manitoba Basketball Officials' Association and the Manitoba Committee of Interpreters of Basketball Rules. In recognition of his contributions to the sport, he was inducted into the Manitoba Basketball Hall of Fame (2003).
He died at Winnipeg on 16 October 2022.
