Memorable Manitobans: Annie Elizabeth Mills (c1882-1959)Educator. Born in Ireland around 1882 [or 1878] to Irish parentage, during the First World War she left Ireland for Canada around 1917 and came to Manitoba. A trained educator, she was Principal of Wentworth School (1918-1919) and taught at Grand Marais School (1920) and in the Brooklands School District (1920-1942). She resided in Winnipeg, including at the Loma Linda Apartments (1921) and Ashford Apartments (c1922-1931) before taking up residence at 119 Chestnut Street (c1931-1935), Alma Apartments (c1935-1936), Holly Apartments (c1936-1937), and the All Saints Anglican Parish Hall (c1937-1938).
