Educator.
Born at Winnipeg on 9 May 1927, son of Walter Leonard Peto (c1888-1975) and Katie Aime (1887-1980), brother of Leonard Donnelly Peto, he attended Laura Secord School and Gordon Bell High School. After receiving Agriculture and Education degrees at the University of Manitoba, he embarked on a 30-year teaching career in the Winnipeg School Division.
He taught at Kelvin High School (1951-1959, 1960-1961), Sisler High School (1959-1960), Grant Park High School (1961-1966), and R. B. Russell High School (1967-1969). He later served as Vice-Principal of Andrew Mynarski School (1969-1972), R. B. Russell School (1972-1979), and Sargent Park School (1979-1984). He retired in 1984 after which he worked part-time for the Assiniboine Credit Union.
In December 1952, he married Elizabeth Blanche “Beth” Crossin (1931-2022) and they had two sons and three daughters.
He died at Winnipeg on 4 April 2007.
