Memorable Manitobans: Robert George “Bob” McIntosh (1951-2023)

Educator, administrator.

Born at West Kildonan on 11 July 1951, he received degrees in Physical Education (1975) and Education (1979) from the University of Manitoba then began a teaching career in the Seven Oaks School Division. He taught Physical Education at James Nisbet School (1976-1982), O. V. Jewitt Community School (1982-1986), and Garden City Collegiate (1986-1994). He then went into administration as Vice-Principal of Elwick Community School (1994-1996), O. V. Jewitt Community School (1996-1997), Ken Seaford School (1997-2000), and Garden City Collegiate (2000-2005), then Principal of Collicutt School (2005-2007), O. V. Jewitt Community School (2007-2014), and West St. Paul School (2014-2018). He retired in 2018. He died at Winnipeg on 23 October 2023.
