Educator.
Born at Winnipeg on 3 July 1929, son of John Kormylo (1886-1959) and Dorothy Rosalia Skawrytka (1892-1981), he became an educator and enrolled at the Manitoba Teachers College. He taught in the East Kildonan School District, Winnipeg School District (WSD), and River East School Division (RESD), including at Polson School (1951-1952), Miles Macdonnell Collegiate (1952-1955), General Wolfe School (1955-1959), Tec-Voc High School (1959-1966, 1967-1968), was Acting Supervisor (1968) and Supervisor (1968-1969) of Guidance for the WSD, Principal of Miles Macdonnell Collegiate (1969-1975), after which he joined the RESD administration-level staff as Director of Student Services (c1975-1977) and Deputy Assistant Superintendent (1977-1986).
Upon retirement in 1986, he took to cottage life at St. Malo and travelling to Florida. He was involved with the Christian Family Movement, the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, Knights of Columbus, Kiwanis, the St. Alphonsus Parish School Board, and was Vice-President (c1968) of the Guidance Association of Manitoba, and President of the Greater Winnipeg Guidance group (early 1960s). On 16 September 1950, he married Genevieve Frances “Joy” Hammerling (?-1998) at St. John Cantius Roman Catholic Church in Winnipeg. They had four sons.
He died at St. Boniface Hospital on 16 March 2001 and was buried at Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery.
