Memorable Manitobans: Leora Edith Fallow Cupples (1911-1986)Educator. Born in the Rural Municipality of Westbourne on 22 November 1911, daughter of Henrietta Buschau (1881-1944) and Gavin “Guy” Fallow (1855-1924), she moved to Winnipeg by 1921 and lived at 121 Lenore Street. She attended Laura Secord School (?-1925), Kelvin High School (1925-?), and Central Normal School, first working as a teacher in rural Manitoba, including as Principal of Moosehorn School (1932-1934). In 1938, she joined the staff of the Winnipeg School District and taught at Greenway School (1938-1940). In the early 1940s, she married David Cupples (1908-1983) and they had a son, Guy Cupples. They moved to British Columbia and took up residence at Delta. She died in a motor vehicle accident at Vancouver on 23 July 1986.
