Memorable Manitobans: John Blain Stewart (1882-?)

Educator.

Born in Ontario in October 1882, he came to Manitoba and worked as a teacher. He taught at Elva School (1906), Lyleton School (1909), Baldur School (1911-1917), and Balmoral School (1919-1920), and was the Principal of Elphinstone School (1923-1924), Elm Creek School (1924-1925), Altamont School (1925-1927), Grosse Isle School (1928-1929), Minitonas School (1929-1930), Tilston School (1930-1931), and High Bluff Village School (1931-1933). On 20 August 1930, he married Margaret Ellen Cline at Winnipeg.
