Memorable Manitobans: Stanley “Stan” Sokalski (1931-2018)Educator. Born at Broadview, Saskatchewan on 30 July 1931, son of Frank and Jessie Sokalski, he attended Elkhorn School and the Manitoba Normal School then taught at Buckingham School (?-?) and Ross School (1955-1956) before moving to St. James. He taught and was the Principal at Beaumont School (1957-1960) and was a machine operator for Blackwood’s Beverages and the City of Winnipeg. He retired in 1991.
