Educator.
Born at Thunder Bay, Ontario on 16 December 1924, his childhood was spent in north Winnipeg. In 1943, he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy, after which he returned to Winnipeg and trained as a teacher.
He taught in the Winnipeg School Division at KIng Edward School (1954-1955) and Sisler High School (1963-1968), and served as the Principal of Argyle School (1972-1973) and Technical Vocational High School (1974-1985). He was an active promoter of youth sports by organizing, refereeing, and coaching basketball teams at the high school level. In recognition of his support for Manitoba sports, he was inducted into the Order of the Buffalo Hunt (1985) and as a builder in the Manitoba Basketball Hall of Fame (2013).
He was married twice, first in 1946 to Audrie Howes (?-?) with whom he had three daughters. He later married Jill Fox. He was a Progressive Conservative candidate for the Wellington constituency in the 1990 provincial general election.
He died at Winnipeg on 13 October 2024.
