Educator.
Born on 16 December 1939, daughter of Lily Roth Grant (?-?) and Kenneth “Ken” Roy (1911-1957), she grew up at 22 Mostyn Place (next door next to the Granite Curling Club) in Winnipeg where her father worked 18 years as caretaker and icemaker. Early on, she worked at the Times Soda Bar on Broadway, next to Osborne Stadium, in the employ of Sam Diamond. She graduated from the Manitoba Teachers College (1959) where he met future husband Christopher Shaughnessy “Chris” O’Grady. She taught at both East St. Paul School (1959-1963) and Birds Hill School (1963-1967, Principal). On 11 July 1964, she married at the Young United Church. She died at Jocelyn House, 177 Egerton Road, in Winnipeg on 18 April 2024.
