Memorable Manitobans: Rose Eileen McCord (1897-1961)


Born at Winnipeg on 2 February 1897, daughter of George McCord (1864-1934) and Rose Anna Erskine (1865-1951), sister of Barbara Marguerite McCord, she was educated at St. John’s Technical High School and the Central Normal School. She taught at St. John’s Technical High School (1921-?) and served as its Vice-Principal (1952-1955). She died at her West Kildonan home, 155 Seven Oaks, on 9 October 1961 and was buried in the St. John’s Cathedral Cemetery.
