Memorable Manitobans: Rose Eileen McCord (1897-1961)Educator. Born at Winnipeg on 2 February 1897, daughter of George McCord (1864-1934) and Rose Anna Erskine (1865-1951), sister of Barbara Marguerite McCord, she was educated at St. John’s Technical High School and the Central Normal School. She taught at St. John’s Technical High School (1921-?) and served as its Vice-Principal (1952-1955). She was a member of the St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Manitoba Teachers’ Society, University Women’s Club, Motor Country Club, and Wednesday Morning Musicale. She died at her West Kildonan home, 155 Seven Oaks, on 9 October 1961 and was buried in the St. John’s Cathedral Cemetery.
