Educator.
Born at St. Paul, Minnesota on 28 November 1893, son of Emile L. Joyal (1854-1934) and Victorine Thomas (1867-1949), he worked as a teacher in rural Manitoba, including at Campeau School (1915), Fisher Branch School (1916-1917), and North Meridian School (1917-1918). In May 1918, he enlisted for military service with the Canadian Expeditionary Force at Winnipeg and was discharged in June 1918. He returned to teaching, later working at Prairie School / Marquette School (1944-1946), Barrick School (1949-1955; Principal 1950-1955) and Mallard School (1956-1957). For a while, he resided in St. Norbert and St. Boniface. He died unmarried at Winnipeg on 13 August 1958.
