Historic Sites of Manitoba: North Meridian School No. 1805 (RM of Fisher)

The North Meridian School District was organized formally in August 1915 and a one-room schoolhouse operated at the northeast corner of NW24-24-1W in the Rural Municipality of Fisher. In 1967, the district was dissolved and its catchment area became part of the Lakeshore School Division.

Among the teachers of North Meridian School were Aurelius Celestin Joyal (1917-1918), Una Anderson (1919), Anna Dufort (1920), Miss M. A. Langlais (1921), Leonard Caners (1921-1923), Norbert Bellavance (1923), Delima A. Todd (1924), James Percy Moore (1925), Emma F. Uhrich (1925-1926), Alice Nault (1926-1927), M. J. Breland (1927-1928), Lucian J. Phaneuf (1930-1932), Leontine Marie Carriere Meilluer (1936-1938, 1941-1943, 1955-1956, 1960-1961, 1962-1963), Marie Josephe Pilon (1943-1944), Alma Rose Dauphinais (1946-1947), Roland Piche (1952), Alma R. Gauthier (1952-1953), Adeline Juliette Meilleur (1954-1955), Eudoria Donna Byblow (1957-1958), Jeannine Chantal Dube (1958), Georges Joseph Guenette (1959), Marie Phaneuf (1959), Cyril Joseph Sinclair (1959-1960), Peter Paul Majko (1961-1962), and Claudette Y. Faucher (1962).
