Memorable Manitobans: Herbert Everett Hunt (1883-?)Court clerk. Born at Nelson on 11 January 1883, son of Robert Hunt (1857-1934) and Ella Parcels (?-?), he was educated at Dauphin and the Portage Collegiate Institute. He studied law with J. J. Harvey until 1905 when he was appointed Assistant Manager of the Federal Life Insurance Company at Brandon. In March 1907, he returned to Dauphin and opened a real-estate and insurance office. In 1908, he was elected clerk of the Dauphin County Court. On 17 May 1911, he married Margaret C. Browne (?-?) at Brandon. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Knights of Pythias, and Masons (Royal Arch). Sources:1901 Canada census, Automated Genealogy.
