Educator, farmer, civil servant.
Born at Winchester, Ontario on 25 February 1855, son of Rufus Earle and Katherine Redmond, he attended the Morrisburg (Ontario) high school and the St. Catharines Collegiate Institute, leaving at the age of 27 and taking a position as a teacher near Toronto.
He came to Manitoba in 1884 and, for four years, taught school near Brandon. He farmed land belonging to his father-in-law for 12 years then was appointed a federal excise officer. In 1903 he was promoted to the position of deputy inland revenue collector.
On 23 October 1884, he married Emma Venita Doran (1857-1922) at Brandon. They had three children: Harold Doran Earle (1885-1927), Fred Graham Earle (1888-1971), and Kathleen Venita Earle (1893-1901). He was a member of the IOOF and Methodist church. He died at Vancouver, British Columbia on 6 October 1943 and was buried in the Mountain View Cemetery.
