Memorable Manitobans: Dennis Edward Wilson (1939-2023)

Educator.

Born in St. Vital on 20 September 1939, son of pianist Bill Wilson and Dorothy Bragg, his career in education started at Glenlawn Collegiate where he taught History and coached basketball and volleyball teams. He then moved to Fort Garry where he taught at Acadia Junior High School. He held administrative positions at Oakenwald School, Crane School, and Acadia School, and was the first Principal of Whyte Ridge School. In 1998, in partnership with his wife, he opened an international school in Saudi Arabia, spending three years there, then spent 17 years advising students in the Faculty of Education at the University of Winnipeg. He died at Winnipeg on 10 November 2023 and donated his body for medical education and research.
