Journalist.
Born at Winnipeg on 10 September 1924, one of two children of Faigel “Fanny” Rosenfeld (1890-1980) and Samuel Louis Glassman (c1886-1963), she received a BA degree from the University of Manitoba then spent five years living in New York City. On 21 January 1953, she married Sidney Warhaft at Paris, France. They had a son.
For 38 years, she was the restaurant critic for the Winnipeg Free Press, writing scores of reviews that sometimes infuriated restauranteurs who received bad ones. Known for her honest opinions and “a fun personal writing style” that were widely appreciated by readers, she continued until retirement in 2015.
She died at Winnipeg on 28 February 2025 and was buried in the Rosh Pine Memorial Park.
