Memorable Manitobans: Grace Murley Wadge (1908-1973)

Educator.

Born at Raglan, Ontario in February 1908, daughter of John Wadge (1874-?) and Ethie “Etta” Wadge (1879-?), she taught school in Ontario before moving to Manitoba where she was the Principal of Rosser Village School (1939-1940) and taught at Phoenix School (1940-1941). She later lived in Winnipeg and graduated with a BA degree from the University of Manitoba in 1946. She was a member of the Home Street United Church and the Canadian Club. She died unmarried at the Winnipeg General Hospital on 9 April 1973 and was buried in the Brookside Cemetery.
