Educator.
Born at Bramhope, Leeds, Yorkshire, England on 6 February 1886, son of George Wade and Mary Ellen Wice, he immigrated to Canada in 1905. He worked as a bookkeeper and science teacher and served as Principal of Binscarth School (1910-1911). On 26 April 1916, he married Ida Mary Burton (1890-1964) at Winnipeg after enlisting for military service in the First World War. He attained the rank of Lieutenant. Returning from military duty, he and his wife lived in Regina, Saskatchewan for one year before moving to Lethbridge, Alberta in 1919 where he taught at Lethbridge Collegiate. The couple would have four children: William George Wade (1917-1980), Arthur Burton Wade (1919-1982), Dorothy Mary Wade (1920-2002, wife of ? McCloskey), and Shirley Wade (1926-2000, wife of ? Baceda). He taught at Fort Macleod in 1932 and then Coaldale in 1933. At the start of the Second World War, he joined the Edmonton Fusiliers as a Major and was discharged due to illness in 1942. He returned to teach at Coaldale until his retirement in 1951. He died at Lethbridge, Alberta in November 1956 and was buried there in the Mountain View Cemetery.
