Memorable Manitobans: Roseline Wolodarsky “Roz” Usiskin (1928-2022)Sociologist. Born at Winnipeg on 8 August 1928, she attended I. L. Peretz School and St. John’s High School. In 1969, she returned to university studies as a mature student, graduating with a BA degree in 1974 as a gold medal winner in Sociology, and a BA Honours in History and Sociology in 1976. She received her MA from the University of Manitoba in 1978, and as of 1978 was a teaching assistant at the University of Winnipeg. She served on the Historic Sites Advisory Board of Manitoba (1982-1989). On 24 December 1949, she married Laurence “Larry” Usiskin (1920-2010) and they had three sons. She died at Winnipeg on 2 December 2022 and was buried in the Hebrew Sick Benefit Cemetery. Her articles for the Manitoba Historical Society:
