Memorable Manitobans: William Garnet Thomas (?-1953)

Building contractor.

Born at Cornwall, England, he came to Winnipeg in 1919 where, in 1934, he partnered with Arvid Lundman in operating the Harper Construction Company. He was its President at the time of his death. He and wife Olive Rundle (daughter of William Pawley Rundle) had a daughter and a son. He was a member of St. George's Anglican Church and the Masons (Scottish Rite). He died at the Misericordia Hospital on 25 December 1953 and was buried in the Elmwood Cemetery.
