Educator.
Born in the Rural Municipality of Rhineland on 17 June 1898, son of Anna Derksen, his taught at Edenthal School (?-?), Mennonite Collegiate Institute (?-?), Riverton School (?-?), Kronsfeld School (1933-1938; Principal 1935-1938), Altona School (Principal, 1951-1955), and in the St. Vital School Division (1960s). He retired around 1967, having taught 41 years. In 1928, he married Anna Friesen (1905-2001) and they had two daughters: Esther Siemens (wife of Fred Sobering) and Arlene Siemens (wife of Roy Dick). The family later lived at at 173 Bartlet Avenue in Winnipeg. He died at the Saskatoon Hospital on 17 August 1968 and his body was returned to Winnipeg for burial in the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
