Memorable Manitobans: Douglas Gordon Pomeroy (1911-1968)Educator. Born at Roblin on 21 April 1911, son of Henry Pomeroy and Audrey Holmes, he taught school in rural Manitoba, serving as the Principal of Dugald School (1946-1947), Richard School (1947-1949), Gretna School (1949-1953), Beulah School (1953-1954), and Ninga School (1955-1956). In 1956, he moved to the St. James School Division where he was an Industrial Arts teacher. He died at Winnipeg on 25 November 1968.
