Named for Rodmond Palen Roblin (as was the Rural Municipality of Roblin in southern Manitoba), Roblin was incorporated as a Village on 1 May 1913. It became a Town on 1 May 1962. In 2015, it was amalgamated with Hillsburg and Shell River to form the Municipality of Roblin.
