Memorable Manitobans: Edward Rudolfe “Ed” Pollock (1925-1998)

Accountant.

Born at Winnipeg on 21 April 1925, son of Tina Andrusyshyn Pollock (1900-1997), during the Second World War he served in the Royal Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserve, after which he attended the University of Manitoba, graduating with a Commerce degree in 1949. He was accredited as a chartered accountant in 1956. He practiced for many years, later becoming involved in the personal care home industry. At the time of his death, he was Board Chairman of the Maples Personal Care Home and a director of the Kildonan Personal Care Home. He was a Liberal candidate for the St. John’s constituency in the 1962 provincial general election. He died at Winnipeg on 23 December 1998.
