Elof Peterson

Real estate broker.
Born at Hessleholm, Sweden on 14 January 1869, son of Peter Johnson, he was educated in Swedish public schools. In 1889, he came to Winnipeg and engaged in contracting and building. In 1911, he was the proprietor of the E. Peterson Company located at 317 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. He was also an agent for the Winnipeg Fire Insurance Company.
On 31 March 1906, he married Helga Alide Johnson (?-?) at Winnipeg and they had eight children: Elmin Algot Peterson (1906-?), Elaf Gordon Peterson (1912-?), Frans Helge Peterson (1914-?), Leonard Peterson (1916-?), Ross Conrad Peterson (1920-?), ? Peterson (wife of C. Thoen), and ? Peterson (wife of L. Giroday). The family lived at 449 Selkirk Avenue, Winnipeg. He was a member of the Swedish Club and the Liberal party. His recreations was hunting.
He died at the Winnipeg General Hospital on 12 January 1950 and was buried in the Brookside Cemetery.
