Born at Inwood on 26 April 1918, at the age of 18 she received a temporary certificate that enabled her to teach for a year at a remote school in the Alonsa district. She then received formal teacher training at the Central Normal School and embarked on career that spanned over 30 years, including service as the Principal of Erickson School (1948-1949), Royal School (1954-1955), Phoenix School (1967-1969), and Columbus School (1969-1975). She died at Winnipeg on 14 February 1983.
