Educator.
Born in 1934, daughter of Esther Agnes Bayer and Frederick Leonard “Duff” Sparling (1893-1977), she was raised at Somerset and graduated from the University of Manitoba with BSc (1959)and BEd (1960) degrees, and in retirement attained her Masters of Divinity. Her career in education included time in the River East School Division, including service as Vice-Principal of Miles MacDonell Collegiate (?-?) and Principal of Angus McKay School (1984-1996). She was first married to John P. Zubek (1925-1974) with whom she had a daughter. She later married George Ferguson Oliver (1929-2015). She died at Winnipeg on 20 February 2019 and was buried in the Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens.
