Memorable Manitobans: Cornelius Calvin Neufeld (1906-1977)


Born at Altona on 9 October 1906, son of Gerhard Neufeld and Elizabeth Martens, brother of G. M. Newfield, he was the Principal of the Stonewall School (1936-1939) then was a long-time teacher in the Winnipeg School Division, serving at Lord Roberts School (Vice-Principal; 1954-1956), Principal Sparling School (Principal; 1956-1959), and Victoria-Albert School (Principal; 1959-1963, 1964-1972). He died at Winnipeg on 7 August 1977 and was buried in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
