Memorable Manitobans: James Murray (1878-?)Hardware merchant. Born at Aberdeenshire, Scotland on 23 February 1878, he came to Manitoba in 1900 and worked in the lumber business and was a grain buyer for the Imperial Elevator Company. In 1909, he started the firm of Murray & Jameson at Altamont, selling hardware, lumber, and automobiles. In 1913, he married Maude Eveline Miner (?-?) and they had a son and a daughter.
