Community activist.
Born at Winnipeg on 28 May 1920, son of James Currie McMillan (1883-1950) and Ruby Florence Lawler (1885-1973, daughter of Patrick Lawler), during the Second World War he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy and served as an officer aboard the HMCS Cowichan. Following the war, he remained active with the Navy as a member of HMCS Chippawa. He was married twice, first in 1942 to Patricia Katherine Elizabeth “Pat” Clare (?-1999, daughter of Dr. Charles Morland Clare) with whom he had two daughters. He later married widow Lorna O'Brien (1922-2012). He was founding President of the Breezy Bend Country Club (1961-1962), a supporter of the Winnipeg Ski Club, and was instrumental in having a statue of the White Horse erected as a Manitoba centennial project. He died at 9 November 2010.
