Memorable Manitobans: Hector R. McLean (1877-?)Farmer. Born in Scotland in 1877, son of Allan McLean and Catherine “Kate” McDonald (?-1882), he emigrated to Manitoba with his parents in 1882, attending Edgehill School before quitting to assist his father on the family farm. He later purchased 320 acres of farmland in Township 17, Range 24 near Kelloe, on which he raised cattle and horses, and grew grain. On 21 August 1907, he married Christine McKinnon (?-?) at Culross.
