General merchant.
Born at Ross-shire, Scotland on 3 October 1864, one of four children of Alexander Mackenzie and Catherine Munroe, he worked in the dry goods business at Inverness until emigrating to Canada in 1888. He worked in a store in Ontario for two years then came to Manitoba where he became a partner in the general store of Chisholm and Mackenzie at Morris.
On 6 June 1896, he married Nellie C. Smith (1866-1950) and they had two children: Winston Mackenzie and Beth Mackenzie. He was a member of the Masons and Orange Lodge. He served as clerk of the county court, a municipal councillor, and a school trustee. He died at Morris on 31 May 1925 and was buried in the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
