Memorable Manitobans: Charles Taylor Lount (1887-1971)Civil engineer, building contractor. Born at Whitevale, Ontario on 20 August 1887, son of William Lount and Abbie Taylor, brother of Frank R. Lount, he received a degree in civil engineering from the University of Toronto. He and his son Graham C. Lount formed C. T. Lount Construction in 1947 and built structures around Winnipeg ranging from single-family residences to high-rise apartment blocks. On 11 October 1913, he married Frances Beaton Graham (c1885-1967) at Winnipeg. He died at Pampano Beach, Florida on 1 December 1971 and was buried in the Elmwood Cemetery.
