Memorable Manitobans: Margaret Lois Cumming Lee (1926-2010)

Educator.

Born at Teulon on 28 April 1926, daughter of Olive Lyle Archibald (c1884-?) and Hugh Duncan Cumming (c1880-?), she attended Teulon School and enrolled at the Manitoba Teachers College. She worked as an educator within Manitoba, including as teacher (1948-1952) and Principal (1949-1952) of Mountbatten School. On 26 January 1952, she married Cyril Ruddy Lee at St. Stephen’s Broadway United Church in Winnipeg and the couple moved to Valleyfield, Quebec. She had one son. She died at Rockwood Terrace Nursing Home in Durham, Ontario on 12 September 2010.
