Memorable Manitobans: Renée-France Labossière (1936-2018)

Educator.

Born at St. Leon in 1936, daughter of Louis A. Labossiere (1898-1967) and Yvonne Rondeau (1901-1984), her teaching career began in 1956, at St. Leon Village School and Richard School, and later at private Catholic schools in Winnipeg: St. Jean Brébeuf School, St. Ignatius School, Sacré Coeur School, and St. Emile School. After teaching at Lacerte School for five years, she became the Principal of Ecole Tache (1976-2002). On her retirement in 2002, the school library was named in her honour. She died unmarried at Winnipeg in September 2018.
