Built in 1966 for the St. Boniface School Division, this French-language school was named for Henri Lacerte and opened to students in September 1966. The school was opened officially by Education Minister George Johnson and School Board Chairman George M. DeCruyenaere at a ceremony on 12 October 1966. Known as Ecole Lacerte, the building has been expanded in size and grades, and later reorganized into the Franco-Manitoban School Division [Division scolaire franco-manitobaine].
