Farmer.
Born at Roxburghshire, Scotland on 2 June 1858, son of Thomas Jeffrey (c1831-1903) and Janet A. Clark (c1833-1914), in 1882 the family emigrated to Canada and settled in Manitoba. Through careful stewardship he added to his holdings until he had 640 acres, located in Township 10, Range 27 near Virden. He raised Clydesdale horses and Shorthorn cattle. He was a member of the Free Presbyterian Church, and spent three years as a director on the local school board. He died at Virden on 12 April 1930 and was buried in the Virden Cemetery.
