Educator.
Born in England in 1882, he came to Canada in 1912 with his wife Catherine Hill (c1881-?) and daughter Catherine Esdale Hill (c1909-?). He was the Principal of St. Andrews School (1913-1916), Binscarth School (1916-1919), Pilot Mound School (1919-1921), Pipestone School (1921-1922, 1927-1933), Elkhorn School (1922-1924), Shoal Lake School (1924-1926), and Carman School (1926-1927). In July 1933, he left Canada and returned to England where he took up a Principalship of a private school at Brighton. During the Second World War, he served as a night / air raid warden, during the course of which he developed influenza and pneumonia. He died of these conditions at Cheshire, England around April 1941.
