Margaret Anne Harper

Educator.
Born at New Brunswick on 21 October 1867, she attended the St. John Normal School and later attended university. After contracting bronchitis in 1892, she moved to Manitoba later that year upon medical advice to seek a drier climate.
At Winnipeg, she received a second-class teaching certificate (1892) and taught for over 40 years, primarily in the greater Winnipeg area, many years after August 1906 of which were in classrooms of the Winnipeg School District. She taught at Norquay School (1906-1907), Machray School (1907-1908), Gladstone School (1908-1910), Isbister School (1910-1916), Mulvey School (1916-1917), St. Charles School / Beauchemin School (1917-1918, Principal), and Lord Selkirk School (1918-1930) prior to retirement around 1936. She lived at 3633 Roblin Boulevard in Charleswood.
She died at 99 Roslyn Road in Winnipeg on 18 July 1947 and was buried in the St. James Cemetery.
