Born in 1947 and raised at Brandon, he attended Harrison High School and Brandon University before studying Architecture at the University of Manitoba. In the early 1980s, he established the architectural firm of Cohlmeyer Hanson (later Cohlmeyer Architecture Limited) in partnership with his friend, Steve Cohlmeyer. He died at Winnipeg on 26 November 2002.
