Lawyer.
Born at Dundas, Ontario on 4 November 1888, son of M. M. Griffin, he came to Winnipeg in 1908 and attended Wesley College. He graduated with a law degree from the Manitoba Law School in 1914. During the First World War, he served overseas with the 12th Field Ambulance. Returning from military duty, he practiced law and was made a King's Counsel (1933). He and wife Elma Beatrice Hand (c1889-1975) had two sons: Melvin William Griffin (1923-?) and Paul Warner Griffin (c1925-1981). He was a member of Young United Church, Odd Fellows, and Manitoba Liberal Association. He died at the Montreal residence of his son on 25 April 1964 and was buried in the family plot at Dundas, Ontario.
