Memorable Manitobans: Walter Fahrig (1889-1937)Educator. Born at Wattenwyl, Ontario on 8 December 1889, son of Frederick Fahrig, during the First World War he served with the Canadian Army Medical Corps then received a degree in Agriculture (1925) from the University of Manitoba. He taught at Prince of Wales School (1924-1927) and was the Principal of Griswold School (1928-1929), Arden School (1929-1936), and Tilston School (1936-1937). He and wife Catherine Swan (?-?) had four children: Robert Bruce Fahrig (1920-?), Marjorie W. Fahrig (1922-1968), Alan Fahrig, and Walter Fahrig.
