Painter, sculptor, graphic artist.
Born at Tullymet, Saskatchewan on 15 April 1935, son of Thomas and Kay Eyre, he received a degree in Fine Art from the University of Manitoba in 1957. He taught painting and drawing at the University for 33 years, from 1959 until retirement in 1992.
In 1957, he married Brenda Yvonne Eyre (?-2009) and they had two sons. In recognition of his contributions to art, he was inducted into the Order of Manitoba (2007) and Order of Canada (2015), and he received an honorary doctorate from the University of Manitoba (2008), a Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee Medal (1977), and a Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal (2002).
He died at Winnipeg on 5 November 2022.
