Farmer.
Born at St. Catharines, Ontario on 12 August 1856, he came to Manitoba in 1879 and, as of 1886, homesteaded the southwest quarter of 5-6-18W near Kaleida. In September 1878, he married Isabella Ingram (1859-1932) and they had three sons and four daughters. He was a Trustee and Secretary-Treasurer of the Overdale School District for many years, and Deputy Returning Officer on many accessions. He was a member of the Presbyterian (Union) church. He died in the RM of Pembina on 20 May 1930 and was buried in the St. Mary St. Alban Anglican Cemetery.
